We never invent a role
Authorship credit is the author's to state, not ours to guess. This tool only turns the roles you tick into the right formats — it reads nothing from the text and fills nothing in on its own. If a paper has no role information, it produces nothing, and that is correct.

Why bother
CRediT ends the "who really did the work" argument by putting it on the record, and DOAJ and funders increasingly expect it. Depositing it to Crossref means every index shows it. It is a small, honest signal that a journal takes authorship seriously.
